Peak

The featured burger today is from:
Peak
(Right next to the State Department Store)
Chingeltei District, Ulaanbaatar

Peak is a two part operation. As you walk in, on the left is a pub and on the right is a fast food joint. The food in Peak is pretty standard for a fast food type restaurant with some added Mongolian items (such as Milk Tea - but no one actually believed that was what I wanted when I ordered it so they gave me English tea instead).

I ordered a Cheeseburger, the tea and a side order of French Fries. I was actually waiting for a friend at this stage, it was winter and damnably cold outside so it was a good opportunity for a quick snack.

The burger itself tasted OK - not great. There was a meat patty of course, cheese, pickles, tomato and a small piece of lettuce in the burger. The burger was really hot, including the bread, so I suspect that these are prepared ahead of time and burgers are nuked (micro waved) to bring them back up to temperature. This makes the bread harder and less moist. All in all, it was OK, not great. Biggest advantage was price - the burger cost 950 tugrig.
